Rugby League Ireland Secure Funding Increase

Rugby League Ireland announced positive news lately with confirmation that they have secured an increase in funding from Sport Ireland for the coming year.

In an update posted to their social media sites the governing body confirmed that the sport would received €45,000 from the government which represents an increase from the previous year of 12.5%.

Along with this increase RLI will receive a fund of €9,000 has been awarded to support the Ireland Wheelchair team who will compete in the 2026 Wheelchair World Cup in Australia.

Speaking on the increase RLI Chairman Jim Reynolds stated “This funding will strengthen clubs and help sustain growth across the game,”

“This funding targets our wheelchair programme and preparation for the World Cup, reflecting progress and confidence in its development,” Reynolds added in relation to the wheelchair funding.

The announcement also hints at more exciting news from the governing body, which we eagerly await with bated breath.
